Human Rights Policy

At Cookies United, we believe that Human Rights are inherent to everyone, regardless of nationality, sex, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status. Our business is critical in creating an equitable and sustainable future for internal and external stakeholders.

Commitment to Respect Human Rights:

We are committed to respecting all internationally recognized human rights articulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, and the International Labor Organization’s (“ILO”). The ILO declaration articulates five fundamental principles to which we are committed, including respect for freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the right not to be subject to forced labor, child labor, or discrimination in respect of employment and occupation, and the right to a safe and healthy working environment.

Child Labor:

We stand for providing children a bright future regardless of any personal characteristic or any other status. We support children’s health, schooling, and free time. That’s why we don’t and won’t employ anyone younger than [18 years] of age and encourage our external stakeholders to follow these protections in line with (ILO) guidance, local, state, and country child labor laws. We thrive as a business, but we’re also committed to doing good by the communities we serve and live in. We ask all of our employees and partners to follow this policy, not just because we demand it as an organization, but because securing an adequate future for children is everyone’s duty.

Workers and communities impacted by Human Rights Violations:

Within our extended supply chain, our message to suppliers, subcontractors, employees, and others is to act in accordance with internationally recognized human right standards. As such, be the voice of this requirement throughout your supply chain. Ensure ethical compliance and transparency, and have a remedy for any non-compliance that will cease identified harmful behaviors. Our organization conducts internal audits and interviews to monitor adherence to our human rights commitments and uphold the highest ethical trading level.

Whistleblower: Internal and Public Reporting / Remediation:

If you believe to be a victim of human rights violations or engaged in illicit activity, we encourage you to report such instances:

For internal anonymous reporting, two locked boxes for written statements by anyone are placed at our facility. 1) Employee cafeteria. 2) Hall next to the HR office by the exit door.
